#MAGALÍFEST fue un festival de un día, autogestionado y auto-organizado, también un "festival protesta", como respuesta a la denegación de la beca general (de la cual me avisaron a mitad de curso) y de repente tenía que pagar los 2300€ de la matrícula. Quizás no es mucho para algunxs, pero para otras famílias y personas sí que lo son, mi caso era el segundo.

Así que organicé, hice carteles, la programación, las cuentas, compras de la comida, y bebida, buscar equipos de sonido, gente que tocara, alguien que llevara el debate sobra la educación pública, también gente que hiciera la comida, y estuviera en barra, etc..

Todo esto sólo pude conseguirlo con la ayuda de amigxs y familiares, y así recaudar el dinero para poder pagar la matrícula de ese año. Agradezco eternamente a lxs artistas que participaron, a toda la gente que me ayudó y a lxs asistentes.

Finalmente se recaudaron 1172,90€ netos. Con los que pude pagar la mitad de la matrícula. La otra mitad me la prestó una amiga de la família.

Este fue el proyecto más personal que he hecho hasta ahora, y que me hizo dar cuenta los privilegios que tengo, y los que no, me hizo dar cuenta de lo importante que es que los estudios sean públicos, de calidad, y gratuitos.
También que deberíamos luchar para que se garantice a todas las personas que quieran, puedan estudiar, porque no tendría que ser un privilegio.

Tengo el 'placer' de invitarle al # magalífest, un festival que tendrá lugar el Sábado 19 de Mayo en el espacio Pratdesaba de Malla (Vic)
La iniciativa surge como reacción a la situación con la que nos estamos encontrando muchos estudiantes: la imposibilidad de cumplir con el pago de la matrícula universitaria. Actualmente los precios para acceder a un grado en la universidad pública rondan los 1500 y 2500 euros. Los estudiantes debemos lidiar con la impotencia de ver como estos precios incrementan año tras año. Particularmente este 2018 el recorte en las becas ha sido descomunal.
Mi caso particular es el de una estudiante de Bellas Artes en la UB que se matriculó confiando firmemente en la asignación de la beca. El grado tiene un coste total de 2300 € que ni yo ni mi familia estamos en condiciones de poder asumir.
Aunque en un inicio pude matricularme como becaria, a mediados de enero llegó la resolución de la beca con un resultado negativo, que por tanto me obligaba a pagar la matrícula completa. Por este motivo y debido al retraso de este pago el cargo ha subido un 5%.
Dadas las circunstancias presenté unas alegaciones en las que defendía mi derecho a ser becada que, posteriormente, también han sido revocadas.
Por el impago de la matrícula me encuentro con el campus universitario bloqueado, lo que conlleva que no puedo entregar ningún trabajo, tener constancia de los contenidos que se cuelgan ni acceder a los ejercicios requeridos
Si no tramito el pago inminente, los profesores no me podrán evaluar de ninguna de las asignaturas que estoy cursando.
Así que, para continuar con los estudios y salir de una situación en la que nadie debería encontrarse os convoco a todas y todos el 19 de mayo.
El MagalíFest es una jornada de ocio y reflexión que más allá de buscar la manera de intentar costear el importe de mi matrícula pretende abrir un espacio de reflexión ante la vergonzosa problemática que afecta a miles de estudiantes cada curso.
El Magalífest es un festival pacífico, Dogfriendly y buenaonda, que pasará entre música, bailes y asados ​​(habrá opción vegana, do not worry), todo ello en el pueblo más bonito de Cataluña #mallarules

MAGALÍFEST was a one-day festival, self-managed and self-organized and also a "protest festival", in response to the denial of the general scholarship (of which I was notified in the middle of the course) and suddenly I had to pay a fee of 2300 € for having enrolled to my university degree. Maybe it is not much money for some, but for other people it really is.

So I organized. I made posters, the programming, the accounts, the shopping for food, and drinks, I looked for the sound equipment, spoke to the people who were going to play, someone who could lead a debate on public education, people who cooked the food and was in charge of the bar.

All this, I could only achieve with the help of friends and family, and thus raise the money to pay the tuition for that year. I am eternally grateful to the artists who participated, to all the people who helped me and to the attendees.

Finally, 1172,90 € net were collected. With which I was able to pay half the tuition. The other half was lent to me by a friend of the family.

This was the most personal project I have done so far, and it made me realize the privileges I have, and the ones I don't. It made me realize how important it is that the studies are public, of quality, and free. Furthermore, it made me realise that education should not have to be a privilege and in order to guarantee that we need to speak up and fight for this injustice.

The initiative arises as a reaction to the situation that many students are facing: the impossibility of complying with the payment of university tuition. Currently the prices to access a degree in the public university are around 1500 and 2500 euros. Students must deal with the helplessness of seeing these prices increase year after year. Particularly in 2018 the cut in scholarships has been enormous.
My particular case is that of a Fine Arts student at the UB who enrolled firmly trusting in the granting of the scholarship. The degree has a total cost of 2300 € that neither I nor my family are in a position to take on.
Although initially I was able to enroll as a scholarship holder, in mid-January the resolution of the scholarship came with a negative result, which therefore forced me to pay the full tuition. For this reason and due to the delay in this payment the charge has risen by 5%.
Given the circumstances, I presented some allegations in which I defended my right to be a scholarship that, subsequently, have also been revoked.
Due to non-payment of tuition, I find the university campus blocked, which means that I cannot deliver any work, have proof of the content that is posted or access the required exercises
If I do not process the imminent payment, the teachers will not be able to evaluate me in any of the subjects that I am studying.
So, to continue with the studies and get out of a situation in which no one should find themselves, I am calling all of you on May 19.
The MagalíFest is a day of leisure and reflection that, beyond looking for a way to try to pay the amount of my tuition, aims to open a space for reflection in the face of the shameful problems that affect thousands of students each year.
